Christmas Eve Coffee at the Leaf and Bean

I am not sure when this got all started, but for years us girls have met up at the Leaf and Bean for a cup of coffee on Christmas Eve. I think it got started when I was working at Hallmark, or maybe even Albertsons and usually had to work on Christmas Eve day. I will tell you a funny story that happened two years ago.....We reminise about this now every year, and imagine we will in years to come! So, two years ago I had a teeny tiny newborn. I was a new Mom and, quite frankly didn't know my head from my butt, and had a VERY difficult time getting out of the house. So on this particular Christmas Eve, I had a nursing baby that wouldn't eat and was being fussy. I showed up in my jammies with uncombed hair and a beanie on my head to cover my crazy hair. I also had one cranky little boy with me, that had been hurried along to nurse, so gave us dirty looks the entire coffee time! Cash and I were quite the sight to say the least!!!

Lefse....a longer process than other years...

Lefse is a much loved family tradition in the Spaulding family. It's a fabulous tradition passed down on my Moms side of the family from Norway. Everyones favorite Grandma Honeyboy would make dozens and dozens of this on Christmas Eve for the entire family. We now have made it our tradition to make it together on the 23rd of December. After a potato mishap, we finally got started making them at 5 o'clock that night! It was lots of work, Mom and Andrea did most of the work since I had to tend to Cashy and TRY to get him to sleep at a decent hour. All the hard work paid off and it was another delish lefse year!

HAPPY ** BIRTHDAY TO MY WONDERFUL MOM!!

Well, early birthday that is. Her birthday is on the 20th of December. Since Aunt Tina and Uncle Mike were in town last weekend, we had some presents and cake a little early.

Andrea planned the whole thing! She did all the decor, and yummy cake. It turned out wonderful! Oh, did I mention it was a surprise to Mom? We all walked in after the Stroll and she was pretty surprised to see the party.

Happy (early) Birthday to Mom!! She is my best friend, and I am so glad I get to call her Mom. Putting everyone before her, she is always there when in need. Over the past 2 years she has become the best Nana too! Those 2 little boys love her to pieces.

I won't tell you how old she is....let's just say, I will be 30 at the end of December and she had just turned 20 when I was born....She looks AMAZING and gets carded for alcohol on a regular basis! I NEVER get carded anymore...hmm.

Living the high life

Someone loves doing the dishes

Cash's latest fav thing: dishes! He loves to scoot the chair up to the sink and play around. Now if only I could get him interested in the dinner clean-up...

Bozeman Christmas Stroll

The annual Christmas Stroll in Bozeman was last weekend. This is the other weekend over the course of the year that Aunt Tina comes to visit. She brought Uncle Mike this time, and the boys went snowmobiling while we went shopping downtown. It really puts you in the Christmas mood! We have tons of snow on the ground, and to say there was a nip in the air would be a terrible understatement! Both Cash and Ryan were mini Michelin men, all bundled up to the point of not hardly being able to move! Needless to say, we lasted long enough to sing a round of "Here comes Santa Clause" and see the fun decorations be lit it. Shopped a little, had some treats and wine, and called it a night! The boys were not thrilled by the end of the stroll, and the pic of the boys and Nana says it all!
