Exotic Birds and Chalk on the Walk

Every Thursday at the library in Butte, there is some kind of childrens program in the afternoon. It not a sure bet that we go, depending on moods and naptimes. I am glad it worked out to go this week!! And I just so happened to throw my camera in the diaper bag. Cash was loving the birds!!

Lunch on the Lawn time...

It feels like summer has officially begun around here! Lunch on the Lawn in Bozeman is the unofficial kick off of summer for us! We went for a visit yesterday and took the car in to get the tint fixed up and purposely scheduled it for Wednesday :) The Emerson and Lunch on the Lawn did not disappoint! It was fiery warm day, the kind where you merge out of the air conditioned car to be met head on with the brick of summertime heat we all know well. Gathering the blanket, sunblock, lunches and toys for Clara we marched in the park greeted by the sounds of the first local band to play at the festivities.

A square of tiny pink flags blocked off an area holding an inviting aray of bright colored hula hoops. Cash was gun-ho to try this year! He did pretty dang well, and had lots of fun spinning the hoop around his tiny waist!

Having lunch....

Bubble machines from Parks and Rec Dept and Roeby's from The Museum of the Rockies provided extra fun for the shorties!

[Backyard Swimming]

We got a new backyard pool last week and it's PINK! After all the dang blue around here, I decided that our pool can be pink this summer. Leave it to Cash to tell me that he "can't swim in that pink pool, since it's a girl pool for Clara".... He finally changed his mind and his sissy couldn't have been happier!

....and then she decided to take a dip again!

We are enjoying the warmth that has finally made it's way to Montana! It's so nice to be able to head out to the backyard for some sunshine and fun!

A Hanging in Uptown Butte...

Leave it to Butte, America to have a mock hanging to celebrate the centennial of the Silverbow Courthouse.

This particular gallow was made in Butte and used all over the state.

I loaded up the kids and we headed uptown to watch the re-enactment. There was quite the turn out!

Afterwards their was a mini childrens parade with kids carrying the largest U.S Flag to the original mine headframe a few blocks away. Then they had a Huck Finn/Pollyana Days for the kids. Shocking that Butte actually had a daytime activity for kiddies!! There were old fashioned games, and races for the kids to play. They served kettle corn and watermelon. It was actually a fun time!
